SLTC Doctoral School

Societies, Languages, Time, Knowledge (SLTC) Doctoral School organises training for the Université de Lorraine in the following disciplines: Languages, Literature and Civilizations, Sociology, Educational Sciences, History, Epistemology, History of Science and Technology, Philosophy, Psychology, Ergonomics and Language Sciences, Anthropolgy.


It brings together ten research units and recognised laboratories around a training project that is part of the University's scientific policy.

The Association’s objectives:
To serve as a forum for contact and interaction among PhD students
To facilitate the flow of information between PhD students, the ED SLTC board and the various bodies of the University of Lorraine
To provide support for PhD students in their research and career development
To represent PhD students in various academic and public spheres
To discuss the PhD programme and its career prospects
We are also available in person, by appointment, at the Arts campuses in Nancy and Metz:
Temporary office in room B221 on the Arts and Humanities Campus in Nancy.

PhD student room

As the ESTHETES room is no longer available due to building works taking place on the Lettres campus, room 326 on the Libération site has been made available to PhD students. Access to this room is restricted and must be requested from the ED’s academic administrator.

A fully equipped room is available for PhD students from SLTC Doctoral School and the Doctoral School of New Humanities – Fernand Braudel on the Arts and Humanities Campus (Room 055, ground floor of Building A).
To access it, you must ask the Porter (reception area) for the access badge, and bring it back to him when you leave.
